Advances Features

  • Single output port – motorized selection of required wavelength, emitted trough the same exit aperture.

  • Self-tuning capability – automatic phase-matching optimization for maximum efficiency.

  • Monitoring – real-time pulse energy tracking at fundamental or harmonic wavelengths.

  • Bypass mode – allows the fundamental 1064 nm beam to pass through with minimal optical loss.

  • Attenuation – adjust pulse energy without altering the pump laser output.

  • Enhanced spectral purity – up to 99.9% purity of the selected harmonic wavelength.

  1. Due to continuous improvements all specifications are subject to change. The parameters marked typical are not specifications. They are indications of typical performance and will vary with each unit we manufacture.
  2. Conversion efficiency presented here is for Port #1. Conversion efficiency at Port #2 or Port #3 depends on unit configuration and typically are lower than presented here. Please inquire for details.
  3. When unit is pumped by our Q2 or Q2HE series laser. Measured during 30 seconds operation after warm-up.
  4. Spectral purity at Port #2 or Port #3 could not be specified for two-wavelength output configuration.
  5. When supplied with Q2 or Q2HE laser, H-SMART is powered from laser controller.
  6. See Figure 1 below for port number assignment.
  7. Wavelength is shown for 1064 nm pump wavelength. For 1053 nm pump wavelength recalculate wavelengths accordingly.
  8. Shows compatible attenuator model. This option is available only when H-SMART is supplied together with Q2 or Q2HE series laser.
  9. Shows compatible pulse energy monitor model. This option is available only when H-SMART is supplied together with Q2 or Q2HE series laser.
  10. Spectral purity is >98 %.
  11. Both wavelengths exit Port #2, for separation external dichroic mirror is required.
  12. Spectral purity for this model is >99.9%.

Description

The H-SMART Harmonic Generator is a fully automated, stand-alone module designed for Q2 and Q2HE diode-pumped lasers.
Mounted side-by-side with the laser on a common optical table or breadboard, the H-SMART provides a compact and robust solution for automated wavelength conversion up to the fifth harmonic.

Factory-configurable output ports enable generation of multiple harmonics, including:

  • Second Harmonic Generation (532 nm)

  • Third Harmonic Generation (355 nm)

  • Fourth Harmonic Generation (266 nm)

  • Fifth Harmonic Generation (213 nm)

Custom wavelength configurations are also available on request, making the H-SMART ideal for research and industrial applications requiring flexible multi-wavelength operation.

The microprocessor-controlled H-SMART automatically tunes and stabilizes nonlinear crystal temperatures for maximum pulse energy and stability.
When paired with QLI lasers, it can be remotely monitored and controlled directly from the laser control interface (PC connection required) or via the built-in Ethernet interface.

To ensure long lifetime of birefringent nonlinear crystals, the H-SMART maintains a stable elevated temperature, protecting sensitive components from humidity.
Even in demanding environments, the crystals can outlast the laser system itself when the module remains powered. If the system is not in use, it should be stored in a dry environment to preserve crystal integrity.

The H-SMART module combines precision, automation, and stability to deliver outstanding performance for multi-wavelength harmonic generation — from the Second Harmonic Generator to the Fifth Harmonic Generator. Its flexible architecture and digital control make it a perfect complement to QLI’s Q2 and Q2HE laser, ensuring reliable and repeatable harmonic conversion for scientific, spectroscopic, and micromachining applications.
